- Title
The North American Peace Movement at an Inflection Point.
- Authors
HARRIS, ROGER
- Abstract
The North American peace movement is currently focused on opposing ongoing US wars in Ukraine and Palestine, as well as preparations for war with China. The movement is increasingly anti-imperialist and includes Palestinian, Muslim, Arab, and anti-Zionist Jewish groups, with a strong youth presence. The movement recognizes the historical context of these conflicts and sees them as part of a larger US-led imperialist order. The movement is calling for negotiated settlements and opposes the US/NATO project of "winning" these wars. The movement also highlights the need for international solidarity and is actively resisting repression and attacks on activists. The movement is looking to organize and coordinate its efforts to have a greater impact.
