The article focuses on the myths surrounding the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which transformed indiscriminate destruction into a "good thing." Topics include myths, perpetuated by deliberate myth-making started by President Harry Truman, have hindered the elimination of nuclear weapons; and historical records of the bombings, with evidence suggesting that Japan have surrendered without the atomic bombs and entry of Russia into the war and work towards nuclear disarmament.
