- Authors
Spangler, Steve
- Abstract
The article focuses on science demonstrations and hands on science experiment performed by teachers to clarify the concept of science. It is stated that experiments lead to questions which lead to making changes and trying the experiment again. Research showed that students remember science concepts much longer when they witness a demonstration that provokes an inquisitive response. The author offers some tips to the science teachers on how to improve their skills which include creating a child centered experiment where the children would take ownership of their questions, introduce children to the scientific method and allow the children discuss science terms as they interpret results.
