- Abstract
The article provides an overview of the serious challenges that face the specialty crop farming in California, considering issues on water resources allocation and pest management practices. The Pacific Area-Wide Pest Management Program for Integrated Methyl Bromide Alternatives (PAW-MBA) launched by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a response to the methyl bromide phase-out is cited. The importance of developing a viable and long-term methyl bromide alternatives is stated.
