- Abstract
The article presents a study conducted to determine the effects of glycerol and nanoclay concentration on the nanoclay nanocomposites extruded from wheat starch with the use twin-screw extruder. Using x-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy to analyze the extent of the dispersion of the nanoclay, it was found out that glycerol had an effect on nanoclay diffusion and that samples containing high concentrations of glycerol has an increase interaction with starch. Moreover, it was also reported that the extent of the dispersion of nanoclays had little effect on the quantity of water uptake.
