- Title
What Makes a "Bad" Mom "Bad"?: A Critical Review of Lucas and Moore's Bad Moms (2016).
- Authors
Davidson, Rachel D.; Dobris, Catherine A.; White-Mills, Kim
- Abstract
The article analyzes the Jon Lucas and Scott Moore film "Bad Moms." It looks at how the film constructs the characters' non-traditional mother roles as being "bad," the qualities of motherhood, and how it presents the stereotypes and traditional parenting behaviors expressed by "good" mothers as opposed to the parenting methods of "bad" mothers. It notes the influence of male conceptions of mothers' family roles and behaviors in making the mothers "good" or "bad."
