- Abstract
A criticism is provided of several poems by the 19th century English poet Gerard Manley Hopkins, including "The Sea and the Skylark," "The Leaden Echo and the Golden Echo" and "Binsey Poplars." The relationship betweening poetry and speech is discussed. An overview of the depiction of the senses in Hopkins' poetry is provided.
