- Abstract
The article presents an overview of the modifications and accommodations that special education educators can use with special education students to facilitate learning to write. A discussion of the benefits of the Self-Regulated Strategies Development program for writing, which is an evidence-based approach for teaching writing and self-regulation strategies, is presented. Challenges which special education educators face when differentiating instruction to meet the needs of their students and providing positive behavioral support are discussed.
