- Abstract
This article discusses the impact made by British Columbia on Canada's Dominion Provincial Youth Training Program. The program was installed during the early 1930s to provide an outlet for Canada's youth during the economic depression of the early 1930s. Before the program, British Columbia was seen as a haven for drifters and the homeless. However, the program saved many of British Columbia's youth, increasing both the health and morale of the children of British Columbia. The success in British Columbia laid the groundwork for future Canadian recreation projects.
