The article evaluates work of author Peter Carey in his book "My Life as a Fake" and "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley. Topics include difficulties faced by Shelley in bringing her authorial self into being; popularity gained by author John Slater for writing popular novels; and complicated structure of Frankenstein in the novel.
