An essay is presented on the subject of what is referred to as the music of vernacular voices in the books "Ulysses" and "Finnegans Wake" by Irish author James Joyce. It examines how Joyce utilized the opposition between sight and sound and voice and writing, particularly by emphasizing the noises of language. The article discusses the characters Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus and the brothers Shem and Shaun.
