Evaluation of worker exposure to benzene.
- Authors
Hallenbeck, William; Flowers, Roxanne
- Abstract
The article presents a study which evaluates the cancer risk on workers due to ingestion and inhalation of benzene to obtain the cancer risk factors. It says that computing the excess risk and the equivalent human dose from experimental studies is important to get the risk factors. The results showed that the lifetime excess cancer risk from inhalation of benzene at permissible exposure limit (PEL) and leaking underground gasoline storage tank sites (LUSTs) are high.
