- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined whether carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) inhalation can induce chronic liver injury in rats. Ten to fifteen male Sprague-Dawley rats were placed in a chamber where (CCl4) vapor were blown at 2 liters per minute (l/min) flow rate. It states that serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activity increased after a single inhalation of the vapor. It was found that CCl4) inhalation can produced chronic liver injury.
