- Title
Repair: Confounding influence.
- Authors
Flight, Monica Hoyos
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted at the Steve Lacroix's laboratory about the axon growth in macrophages after injury. The study shows that CD11b+ myeloid cells are needed for axon regeneration in the peripheral nervous system (PNS) and found that the recovery of sciatic nerve function and peripheral nerve axon regeneration are seriously compromised after injury. It also tells about the danger of physical contact between macrophages and injured axons in axon regeneration.
