- Title
Neuroimmunology: a CNS guard as prickly as a hedgehog.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article presents a study on the compromised function of blood-brain barrier (BBB) and the activation of lymphocytes in central nervous system (CNS) of hedgehog. It states that the signaling of hedgehog promotes a BBB integrity that contributes to the CNS immune-privileged state. The study reveals that sonic hedgehog (SHH) expressions were identified in astrocytes, active SHH protein in astrocyte supernatants, and receptor Patched 1 (PTCH1) in BBB endothelial cells.
