- Abstract
At least 22 bat species have been recorded so far within the Vjosa watershed, in southern Albania: Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, R. hipposideros, R. blasii, R. euryale, R. mehelyi, Myotis myotis, M. oxygnathus, M. bechsteinii, M. nattereri, M. capaccinii, M. emarginatus, M. mystacinus/davidii, M. alcathoe, Nyctalus leisleri, N. noctula, Pipistrellus pipistrellus, P. pygmaeus, P. kuhlii, Hypsugo savii, Eptesicus serotinus, Plecotus kolombatovici, Miniopterus schreibersii, Tadarida teniotis. Between 2011 and 2021, we collected new data on bats in the entire area and recorded new important roosts and potential feeding areas for protected bat species. We also provide observations regarding threats that are facing several of these species at the local and regional scale.
