- Abstract
Presents an interview with Felipe Smith, professor of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Smith stated that Hurricane Katrina and flooding affected higher education in New Orleans through the reduction of faculty and support employees. He expressed that concerns about public safety in the city explains the departures of the faculty members. He adds that the move to post postdoctoral in the teaching position proved to be an upgrade in the quality of education in Tulane University.
