NORTHSHORE SCHOOL DISTRICT v. KINNEAR: THE "GENERAL AND UNIFORM" AND "AMPLE PROVISION" CLAUSES.
- Authors
ANDERSEN, WILLIAM R.
- Abstract
The article discusses the court case of Northshore School District Number 417 v. Kinnear in Washington state in April 1972. It states that several public officials, schools, parents and students, accused the state of economic discrimination and unequal funding for public schools. The presiding judge forwarded the matter to the Washington Supreme Court in June 1973, which agreed that plaintiffs had a case, but claimed it had no jurisdiction to decide how funds were to be appropriated. As of January 1974, no decision has been made.
