- Abstract
The article discusses several problems related to the drafting of slum clearance and low-cost housing legislation in the U.S. It examines the Emergency Relief and Construction Act of 1932 and the National industrial Recovery Act of the country. It is stated that the main problem of state legislature is to make a law for the Iow-cost housing development and slum clearance projects by public bodies. It refers to legislative drafting in several state legislatures including Illinois where the problem was regarding the definition of the powers of the state housing board about housing authorities.
