- Abstract
The article studies the characteristics of a middle-size Jewish community in Fresno, California. The author explores on its subcommunities, size of the community; availability of Jewish institutions and social services and developments contributing to the establishment of a Jewish community center. The study concludes that as American Jewish population increases, the need for the communities there to anticipate what changes and adjustments must be made to reach and serve the Jewish people also increases especially for the elderly.
