- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study on the link between body mass index (BMI), age of first sexual intercourse, number of sexual partners, condom use, history of sexually transmitted disease (STD), herpes simplex virus 2 serepositivity and human papilloma virus (HPV) prevalence among women in the U.S. It was found that there was no link between BMI and HPV prevalence. About 9% of mildly obese women reported STD history. Women with higher BMI were found to less likely report sexual behavioural risk factors.
