- Abstract
The risks for invasive fungal infection (IFI) are enhanced by cytotoxic therapy-induced prolonged severe neutropenia, intestinal mucosal damage, and B- and T-cell immune suppression in patients receiving intensive therapy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplasia (MDS) or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Comparison of mold active triazoles as primary antifungal prophylaxis in patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia in the era of molecularly targeted therapies.
