An interview with independent oncology nurse consultant Gail M. Wilkes is presented. It mentions that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Xermelo tablets in combination with somatostatin analog (SSA) therapy for the treatment of carcinoid syndrome diarrhea in adults inadequately controlled by SSA therapy alone. It also dsicusses implications of the new drug for patients with carcinoid syndrome.
