- Abstract
COVID-19 imposes a significant challenge to the institutional care of older people worldwide. The low awareness of COVID-19 among residents of aged care homes could increase the risk of infection among residents and staff, ultimately increasing the fear of COVID-19 among the care providers. This study examined the fear of COVID-19 among care providers in aged care homes across Malaysia. Besides, this study also examined the difference in fear of COVID-19 among staff between low or fair and high awareness of COVID-19 among aged care home residents. The study found that fear of COVID-19 among staff was significantly lower in the group when residents had high awareness of COVID-19.
