- Abstract
The article discusses the first report of Neoerysiphe galeopsidis on Althaea rosea, an ornamental plant, in Changchun, China. In September 2004, powdery mildew-infected leaves of Althaea rosea were collected. Morphological characteristics of ascomata were observed. The characteristics of the fungus is similar to the fungus found on Galeopsis bifida and pinpointed as Neoerysiphe galeopsidis. The fungus' ITS sequence was compared with that of Chelonopsis moschata and was shown to share sequence similarity of 99.8%.
