- Title
Some HIV-Test Rules Are Ignored.
- Abstract
The article reports that hospital patients being tested for infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are not always counseled appropriately. Hospital patients being tested for infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are not always counseled appropriately, asked for their informed consent or even told the outcome of their test. The results of a survey of 561 employees at non-government hospitals in the United States reveal that some U.S. hospitals are not following HIV testing and counseling guidelines established in 1987 by the Centers for Disease Control.
