CFO Survey: Good Help Is Getting Harder to Find.
- Abstract
The article reports on the FEI/Duke University Corporate Outlook Survey, which asked chief financial officers (CFO) about recruiting staff. Forty-one percent of the respondents said that it is getting more difficult to find qualified employees. Regional differences in the U.S. labor market that affect hiring are mentioned. Duke University finance professor, John Graham, comments on the hiring of less-qualified employees. The survey also asked CFO about health care costs. Companies in the mining and construction industries are anticipating a 10.4 percent increase in health care costs. Salaries in the high technology sector are expected to rise by six percent.
