- Title
Ties With China.
- Abstract
The article reports that the Angolan Finance Ministry has admitted that the 2005 line of credit from the Hong Kong-based China International Fund (CIF) was worth $2.9 billion rather than the $9.8 billion figure quoted by the World Bank. The statement by the Angolan Finance Ministry was issued after Aguinaldo Jaime, who runs Angola's economic policy, had hinted that the CIF loan had run into difficulties. The CIF is the construction arm of Beiva International Development, which imports oil from Angola to China.
