- Abstract
Aim & Objectives:- This aim of this study was to compare movement of teeth taking place during processing of denture using various coring materials that are dental plaster, dental stone and silicone for investing. Objective of this study was to find which material used for investing of denture causes least tooth movement during fabrication of complete denture. Material and Method:- Fifteen ideal edentulous maxillary casts were taken and an even thickness of wax sheet adapted on them, which were then processed to obtain a fifteen ideal processed denture bases. Ideal teeth arrangement was done on these fifteen permanent denture bases. Reference points was marked and measurement done before acrylization. three different investing material was chosen for flasking; first was conventional plaster-plaster method, second was plaster - stone-plaster method and third was plaster- putty -plaster method. Post acrylization measurement was done and compared with pre-acrylization measurement. Result:- After comparison of difference of three groups namely dental plaster, dental stone and silicone done in anteroposterior, medio-lateral and vertical directions. All three groups are significant to each other, while comparing the parameter of all device are significant P<0.05. Applying the student T-test for testing the significance of two groups. Conclusion:- Dental stone showed the least tooth movement compared to dental plaster and silicone material. Silicone material gives smooth surface of processed denture but showed greater tooth movement. Among the three methods stone core technique showed an average discrepancy value in all the three directions of movement.
