- Abstract
The article presents a study which assesses the public reactions and behavioural shifts to mass stranding and mortality events involving cetacean in Italy. It examines the responses of 118 individuals regarding the seven sperm whales Physeter macrocephalus mass stranding at the Adriatic Sea coast in Italy. It states that the responses the change in the public perception of whales which revolve across the emergence of sadness, a sense of loss and compassion.
