- Abstract
The anthology "Social Science Data Collection in the Digital Age" by Wolbring, Leitgöb, and Faulbaum discusses the impact of digitization on data collection in the social sciences. The focus is on translating traditional survey methods to new carrier technologies such as smartphones. The anthology covers six significant developments related to data collection in the digital age, including the digitization of survey forms, the importance of smartphones and social media as data sources, and the integration of different data sources. However, the anthology primarily focuses on the use of mobile devices and online surveys. It is criticized that the discussion about the digitization of social sciences and reflection on one's own research methods are given too little attention.
