- Abstract
Customers have changed, have camps followed the same path? Purpose of this article is to try to analyse present status and application of digital strategy and technology in marketing of tourist camps in Croatia. We try to analyse current global and local trends in tourism and provide implications for further development. Consumers today are not passive viewers, but active creators of the market. They search for information online and the premise is if tourist camps were able to provide adequate answers in adequate time and through proper channel, they would be able to increase their visitor numbers, average yearly revenues and visitor satisfaction. Our research, interviews with 35 owners of touristic camps in Croatia, offers an outline of present status and application of digital strategy within their marketing plans. In literature review, several relevant researches offer a guideline into present trends in consumer behaviour. Primary research results combined with findings from secondary research aim to offer a conceptual guide in providing a perfect holiday solution for consumers seeking one.
