- Title
Fibrinolytic Therapy to Reduce Microvascular Obstruction After Myocardial Infarction-Reply.
- Authors
Berry, Colin; McCartney, Peter J.; Maznyczka, Annette M.; T-TIME Group
- Abstract
The authors respond to a commentary on their research that evaluated the effectiveness of low-dose intracoronary fibrinolytic drug, altephase in reducing microvascular obstruction in primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) patients. Topics discussed include a study comparing intracoronary streptokinase with non-administration of additional therapy at the end of primary PCI, reactive hyperemia after reperfusion, and the pathophysiology of microvascular obstruction.
