- Abstract
The article discusses the utilization of appendix as a biliary conduit for the diagnosis of biliary atresia associated with bowel atresia. It says that jaundice contributed to 20% of cases with bowel atresia, and recommends that the gallbladder be examined. Reconstruction of biliary tree and prevention of ascending cholangitis can be attained through the use of appendix as an anti-reflux conduit.
