- Authors
SUTTON, A. J. G.
- Abstract
The article presents a research study on the diurnal raptor community in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia through road-transect surveys and nest searches. The study area is defined including the seasonal conditions preceding and during the study period. A table summarizes data on raptor nestlings of banding age which indicated advanced nestlings for most species. Dietary observations or pellet analyses are provided for the diurnal raptor community of the Newman study area with its 14 species. Observations on the structure of the breeding raptor community around Newman, particularly the bird-eating falcons, appeared similar to elsewhere in the arid zone.
