- Abstract
The article presents a profile of the late 19th century Jewish American banker Achille Levy of Oxnard, California and his family history, taken from an interview with his daughter Anna Waterman. Details are given highlighting several periods of Levy's life, including his immigration to the U.S. from France in the 1870s, the establishment and family management of the Bank of A. Levy through several generations, and his family life. Details are provided outlining the interviewee's childhood in the Levy household. Final comments are given describing her marriage to William M. Waterman and his connection to the Levy family.
