- Abstract
A reprint of the article "San Francisco Protests Shoah, June 21, 1943," which appeared in the June 15, 1993 issue of the "Jewish Review" of Portland is presented. There were more than 11,000 people gathered in the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California at a mass meeting called to protest the extermination of Europe's Jews by the Nazis. Speakers included novelist Thomas Mann and San Francisco Mayor Angelo Rossi and Rabbi James G. Heller. Mann came to the town solely for the purpose of addressing the meeting.
