- Abstract
The article presents the second part in a report series on community health assistants (CHAs) in Zambia. Topics include the sociodemographic characteristics of CHAs, the CHA recruitment process and motivation for becoming a CHA as well as factors that influenced CHA's work motivation, such as power relations among CHAs, health post and work culture and structure. Also mentioned are their experiences of working in rural Zambia and recommendations for addressing challenges in the CHA initiative.
