- Abstract
The article discusses the role of the state in the supervision of civil society organizations (CSO), specifically the non-governmental organizations (NGOs), in Peru. It is stated that legal norms on the activities of CSOs were modified in Peru, emphasizing the need for transparency in these organizations, and the constitutionality of the changes was challenged by NGO representatives. It notes that NGOs are defined in Peruvian legislation as administrative qualifications and their roles include provision of public service, innovation, and advocacy to problems and change promotion. Details on the modifications of the CSO supervisory committee Agencia Peruana de Cooperación Internacional (APCI) are also included.
