- Abstract
The article discusses the response of the rivers around the Himalayan region to late Pleistocene-Holocene climate and neotectonic evolution of the orogeny. It cites the E-W trending thrusts that transversed in Himalaya's S-N transect including the Himalayan Frontal Thrust (HFT), the Main Boundary Thrust (MBT), and Counter Thrust (CT). It suggests the evolution of Himalayan prism in these thrusts. It also proposes that the Indus River is responding to activity along CT.
