- Abstract
The article addresses U.S. federal and state regulations on wine and their relative powers using the California law to illustrate regulations related to land use, production, and export and New Yok law to address import, distribution and retail. Topics covered include cases to address how the current framework effectuates wine industry consolidation, the challenges faced by emergent and boutique wineries, and a progressive scheme for wine regulation designed to address anti-competitiveness.
