- Abstract
Evaluates the α2/Β2 adrenoceptor ratio during changes of salt intake in healthy men. Observation of an enhanced upregulation of α2/Β2 ratio by a high salt diet; Consideration of the adrenoceptor upregulation as an initial step for the slow rise of blood pressure on a high salt intake in susceptible individuals; Likelihood of the augmented rise of adrenoceptors to be an important early event in the development of essential hypertension.
