- Abstract
The article describes the new zirconia Zolid Bion from the company Amann Girrbach. It is a type II class 5 zirconia that is suitable for various applications. The material offers good aesthetics and strength and can be used for monolithic restorations, veneers, or micro-layering. It is characterized by high translucency and fast sintering speed. The zirconia enables efficient work in the dental laboratory and meets various requirements in terms of aesthetics, functionality, and cost-effectiveness. The article describes the advantages of Zolid Bion, a zirconia material, for everyday dental practice. By modifying the material, translucency could be increased, resulting in natural results. The plastic frame in which the blank is clamped reduces the risk of chipping during milling. The innovative bonding technique allows milling up to the edge areas and minimizes resource consumption. Zolid Bion is delivered in environmentally friendly packaging and is therefore well suited for use in all-ceramic dentistry. The article describes the use of Zolid Bion, a new zirconia material, for the production of all-ceramic crowns. Excellent fit of the crowns was achieved by sintering in high-speed mode. After conditioning the zirconia surfaces, the crowns were painted and individually designed with various ceramic masses. The restorations were adhesively bonded and showed natural aesthetics with dynamic light-optical properties. The zirconia material Zolid Bion enables easy and versatile production of all-ceramic restorations.
