- Abstract
The present study, through a comparative analysis of fragments of the novels Grande Sertão: Veredas, by the Brazilian author Guimarães Rosa, and Lueji: o nascimento de um império, by the Angolan author Pepetela, aims to simulate the aesthetic articulation of the Portuguese language in the literature of Portugal's former colonies, which can be approached from a political angle, given that the issue of identity appears to be the focal point in both works. Analyzing certain linguistic aspects, such as neologisms and, especially, the aesthetico-narrative methods, the study seeks to reflect on the "myth" of a pure or standard Portuguese language dominant in postcolonial Lusophone literatures, a language that nonetheless appears to be much richer and plural in ways that only literary texts can demonstrate.
