- Abstract
The article focuses on the issue of ethnicity in the epistemology of Hausa video film in Nigeria. According to the author, Hausa video films although they are not as big as the Hollywood, has been integrated in the larger industrial subsector. Along with such development, Hausa video film is influenced by ethnicity and religion. Meanwhile, the context of its production is characterized by Islam, the Hausa appetite for films, the Indian film, documentary and feature films, Hausa novel and drama. Moreover, the author believes that the dominant position of the Hausa in Nigerian politics had always put abundant production capital resources within easy reach of the Hausa filmmaker.
