- Abstract
The article discusses the efforts of recyclers and packaging companies to find common ground and collaborate in order to improve recycling and make packaging more sustainable. The Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) and the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) have held events where these sectors have shown signs of better understanding each other. The article highlights the challenges of recycling packaging materials and the need for collaboration due to regulations, consumer pressure, and investor demands. Various sessions at the events discussed topics such as increasing the recyclability of packaging, efforts to recycle plastic films, and different approaches to plastic recycling. The article also mentions the limitations of current recycling infrastructure and the importance of consumer engagement in improving recycling rates.
