- Abstract
Gender economics is comparatively new area of economic science. It analyzes differences in the economic status of men and women and causes that arise. In this paper basic methodological approaches of gender economics are analyzed, emphasizing the Marxist economics and areas close to it neoclassical approach and standpoint of institutional economics to gender issues. The review presents the economics of household, the division of labour within family and more detailed analysis of market discrimination according to the gender trait from the standpoint of neoclassical theory.
