- Title
Latinoamérica dispuesta a transitar hacia las energías limpias.
- Authors
Hidalgo López, Érika
- Abstract
Latin America faces challenges in its transition to clean energy due to lack of access to financing, technology, knowledge, and innovation. Despite having advantages in renewable energy, inequalities could hinder the transition in countries with fewer resources. Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina are leaders in the development of techno-financial projects. The International Center for Energy and Environment (CIEA) will be established in the City of Knowledge in Panama, with the aim of promoting communication among actors in the environmental and energy sectors in Latin America and the Caribbean. The region stands out for having six out of every ten installed megawatts coming from renewable sources.
