- Abstract
A ongoing tendency of corporate activism that emerged in the United States, labeled by academics under the name of CEO Activism in the mid-2010s, attempts to explain the relevance of the participation of North American Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in public debates and how has the commitment with issues that affect people's daily lives changed the image of the Establishment for the better. Although perceived as risky, the participation of entrepreneurs in the every day life of American society has come to meet a demand for non-political leadership and has awakened in the reluctance public different points of view in relation to the activity that they traditionally abhorred. CEOs of the most important companies in the world have experienced an increase in their reputations, therefore arose the need to know if the same results could occur in Argentina if the business community advocatese and uses activism as a tool to approach the public. Establishing concepts that allow the CEO Activism to bu understood, a qualitative and quantitative investigation was developed with the purpose of determine the level of participation of Argentine businessmen in conjunctural problems. It was concluded that a third part of those involved participated actively or sporadically in the most relevant public debates during the established period, thus indicating the existence of CEO Activism in Argentina.
