- Abstract
The article discusses public relations (PR) techniques that financial planners can use. PR approaches that such professionals can use include public speaking, publishing articles, or being quoted as an expert in an print article or in the broadcast media. Compared with traditional marketing approaches such as direct mail or referrals, the author states, PR is the slower route to obtaining new clients. Other topics include becoming familiar with the reporters in local newspapers and writing newsworthy press releases.
